Now that we're able to comment on posts, figured this would be a good enough time to kick off the start of a discussion on this. Even though this is pretty low priority atm, Chris had said he wanted feedback on this. I've used several sites, apps, games, etc. that have versions of a paid subscription service to them that vary between a single-tier system to a multi-tier system. I can see multi-tier working effectively IF the price-to-perks ratio feels good for the user.

Let's take a look at this for a second. Nothing is set in stone about it but I can see potential, especially if the goal is having a subscription service that helps pay for Buzzly's day-to-day costs. One multi-tier structure I'd put forth is a 5-tier:
Bronze - the "free" tier. All accounts created are classed as bronze and have the same basic perks. Earns the Bronze-plan badge.
Silver - the low end sub. This tier offers slightly more perks than bronze. Is a 1-month subscription. Earns the Silver-plan badge.
Gold - the mid sub. This tier offers more perks than silver. Is a 6-month subscription. Earns the Gold-plan badge.
Platinum - the high sub. This tier offers the most perks. Is a 1-year subscription. Earns the Platinum-plan badge.
Rainbow - the "permanent" tier. Has the same benefits of platinum but is only gifted at admin discretion. Would see this being rewarded for those who volunteer their time to the site (beta testers, moderators, etc.) Also remains as their account sub even when they decide to step down from these volunteer positions. Earns the Rainbow-plan badge.
Possible Tier Features:
Bronze - the basic package. No premium/special features. No subaccounts. No name change. Low upload/submission/storage limits
Silver - a step up from bronze. Slightly better upload/submission/storage limits, ad-free, and maybe 2 customizable profile widgets.
Gold - the "best" deal. Better upload/submission/storage limits, ad-free, some premium/special features, 2 subaccounts, 1 name change/month, etc.
Platinum - the best overall. Top upload/submission/storage limits, ad-free, all premium/special features. 5 subaccounts, 1 name change/month, etc.
Rainbow - same perks as platinum.
Honey tie-in:
Free honey drops per month can be tied into each tier while still maintaining a separate ability to purchase more honey bundles. Have it tied to log-in where you only earn the free honey when you have logged into your account at least once per month. This is meant to not only let members feel like they're getting a small reward for being on Buzzly but also an incentive towards purchasing honey bundles. And for argument sake, lets say 100 honey = $1 USD.
Bronze - can earn 10 free honey/month. Not a lot but being active lets them earn something. They don't feel as left out.
Silver - can earn 25 honey/month.
Gold - can earn 50 honey/month.
Platinum - can earn 100 honey/month.
Rainbow - can earn 100 honey/month PLUS if they're actively in volunteer positions (beta tester, moderator, etc.) they can earn additional honey on top of that has a perk for donating their time.
This would depend upon subscription costs vs the perks they receive and can be simplified if people feel a single-tier system is better. Example:
Bronze - free
Silver - subscription
Gold - permanent
So, let's get the discussion rolling. Thoughts? Ideas? Compromises?
